Beaulieu Camera Group held our Print of the Year competition of 2024 on 6th November.
Prints which had been awarded a Seal of Merit during the year were eligible to take part giving a total of 26 on display.
Our judge for the event was Gordon Brown ARPS from Winchester Photographic Society. Gordon has judged at BCG on numerous occasions and as always, his critique of each image was excellent with insightful comments and great knowledge of technique and subject matter. Gordon was very complimentary on the high standard of work.
First place and the Print of the Year Trophy was awarded to Bob Abbott for his print "New Family in the Mist"
In 2nd place was "Maggie White CPAGB with "Beaulieu River After Storm". Another of Maggie's prints "LIght in the Dark Wood" was awarded 3rd place.
Gordon awarded five Highly Commended Certificates to the following: "Letchworth State Park Upper Falls" by Ian Bateson, "Acorn Street Boston" and "Buachaille Etive" both by Vanessa Bateson and "From the Other Side" and "Trasher" both by Alan Price ARPS.
Congratulations to the award winners and to all the Beaulieu Camera Group members whose prints were awarded Seals of Merit during the year. The quality and variety of genres and styles certainly made for a super evening.
