This was the second time that BCG held a Panel of Three competition using PDIs. with the first being in 2021. There was an impressive entry of 33 panels with a great array of subject matter, genres and techniques.
Each panel was shown in full, followed by the individual images and then returning to the full screen panel view. The authors were invited to talk about their panels with interaction from the members, generating discussions which were encouraging and helpful.
Six of the panels were held back and the final winner was selected by our digital secretary, Ian Hutchinson, who once again did a great job of creating the competition folders and running the evening.
The winning panel was "Loose Screws" by Rob Snellgrove LRPS which Ian felt was a very well thought-out and put-together panel.

Congratulations to Rob and all the members who made the evening such a success.

The members of each team were invited to submit up to 3 PDI images to their Team Captains whose task was to choose twenty to represent them.
Our judge for the event was Alan Harris, Programme Secretary of Lymington Camera Club. This was the first time Alan, who is an accomplished photographer, had judged an external competition and he did an excellent job of assessing each image.
There was a great array of subjects and genres shown, with Alan giving equal consideration to all. It was certainly a very close fought competition. The images were scored out of 10 and the team with the most marks were declared the winners.
The final result was another win for "The Boys'" team who scored a total of 174 marks with "The Girls'" team scoring a total of 168. The "Girls" were gracious in defeat and the victorious "Boys" kindly shared the winners' prize of a box of Heroes with them.
Congratulations to the following members whose images scored 10: Paul Berkeley ARPS DPAGB for "No Way Back"", Rob Snellgrove LRPS for "Over My Shoulder" and Maggie White CPAGB for "Twisted Stamens".

Following the cancellation of this year's Beaulieu Village Fete on 15th July due to extreme weather conditions, an alternative event, the Beaulieu Village Meadow Fair was held on 19th August. It was a lovely day and wonderful to see so many people.

Beaulieu Camera Group was delighted to take part and be able to hold our exhibition. Nearly every member was represented, with a total of eighty one prints on display,
Each year at the Fete, members of the public are invited to vote for their favourite image. The photographer whose image receives the highest number of votes is awarded the Bob Grier Memorial Trophy. The astounding total number of votes this year was 342, which was an all time record. The winner was Maggie White with her image "Wild Wood Mouse".

Usually the celebrity who opens the Fete is asked to choose their favourite image with the author being pressented with a bottle of chapage. This year Lord and Lady Montague and the Treasurer of the Fete, Elizabeth Selzer, chose their favourite which was "Female Sparrowhawk with Prey" by Bob Abbott.

Thank you to the many Beaulieu Camera Club members who helped set the exhibition up, were there all day helping run the event and who stayed until the very end to take it all down again.
