The members of each team were invited to submit up to 3 PDI images to their Team Captains whose task was to choose twenty to represent them, with at least one included from each member.
Our judge for the event was Maria Leekblade LRPS,AFIAP, DPAGB, a member of Lymington Camera Club. Maria has judged many of our competitions in the past and we always enjoy her critique and insightful commentary.
There was a great array of subjects and genres shown, with Maria giving equal consideration to all. The images were scored out of 10 and the team with the most marks were declared the winners.
The final result couldn't have been closer with another win for "The Boys'" team who scored a total of 173.5 marks with "The Girls'" team scoring a total of 172.5. The "Girls" were gracious in defeat and the victorious "Boys" kindly shared the winners' prize of a box of Heroes with them, which was some consolation.
Congratulations to the following members whose images scored 10: Ian Bateson for "Forest Dawn", Vanessa Bateson for "Trolls of Vik", Linda Dunham for "Jaz Delorean", Ian Hutchinson for "Nuthatch", Alan Price ARPS for "Calle Nuova" and Maggie White CPAGB for "Sunset at Longslade Bottom".

This year's Beaulieu Village Fete was held on Saturday 20th July and thankfully, after a damp start to the day, the afternoon was dry and bright. A record number of about 1500 people attended the fete, raising a wonderful sum of money for local good causes.

Beaulieu Camera Group were delighted to be invited to show a display of prints once again with a total of 74 images on show representing nearly every one of our members.
For this year's Fete, Beaulieu Camera Group held a prize draw to help raise funds for the Common Good Foundation. Three images from our members were selected as the prizes. They were "Sunrise,Hatchet Pond" by Hilary Flaxman, "Doe in the Evening Heather" by Ian Hutchinson and "Storm Over Beaulieu" by Ian Park. The photos were all of locations in the New Forest and Alan Price kindly printed, mounted and framed them. A total of £140 was raised with the three winners of each draw delighted to receive their chosen print.

The delighted winner of "Storm Over Beaulieu".
The event was opened by Jon Cuthill, a BBC presenter, who was invited to choose his favourite print from those on display. The winner this year was Alan Price ARPS with his image "Trasher", who was presented with a bottle of Champagne.

Each year we ask members of the public to vote for their favourite picture, with the winner being awarded The Bob Grier Trophy. This year's winner was Emma Port for her lovely image "Lacy's Dance". The total number of votes overall was 348.

Thank you to all the members of Beaulieu Camera Group who helped with the setting up, stewarding, and taking down the display on the day. It was as always, a lovely, sociable occasion and such a great way to be involved with Beaulieu Village and all the other organisations who take part in the Fete.
Next year's Fete will be held on Saturday 19th July and we look forward to taking part again.

The subjects were: "Something Old, Something New", "Geometry", "Pink or Purple", "High Key", "Zoom Effect", "From a Dog's Perspective", "Something Soft", "Door Furniture", "Smaller Than Your Thumb" and "Reflections in a Window".
The Teams spent the first part of the evening finding and photographing the images. Afterwards, they met at the Mayflower Hotel for refreshments and the teams chose their ten images which were uploaded onto the MacBook. There were a couple of issues with problematic SD cards, but Ian Hutchinson once again made a great job putting them into separate folders ready to be scored at the competition on 19th June.
The images were all "as taken" as jpegs with no post processing at all. Each set of images for each subject were shown as PDIs with the judge for the event Sue Dunham, critiqueing each image. They were placed in order from 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th and the cumulative scores were added together to give a total overall score. The images were excellent and showed the proficiency and skill of our members in producing such good results straight from the camera.
After a very close competition, the winning team was "Rage" made up of Alan Fisher, Gordon Garrett, Edna Phillips and Rob Snellgrove, who were each awarded a pack of Maltesers.
Here are the winnings team's images:
