Fordingbridge Challenge Plate 2020

Details
Published: 23 April 2020

Despite the lockdown and social distancing due to the CoronaVirus, the Fordingbridge Challenge Plate for 2020 still took place using the Zoom app. All eight clubs took part with eight PDIs from each and a total audience of about 120 members from the clubs attended which was remarkabale, including 21 from Beaulieu Camera Group. Our thanks go to Fordingbridge Camera Club for all their hard work in making the evening a success and to Louis Rumis AFIAP MPAGB who judged and scored the 64 images during the "live" online meeting.

The Plate was won by BH Photography Club with a total score of 72.5. This was the 10th Anniversary of the competition and BCG's highest position during that time was in 2015 when we finished in 2nd place. This year we came 4th, which matched the 2018 result, in a very close fought match, with a total score of 70.

The images selected to represent Beaulieu Camera Group in this year's competition can be viewed in the Gallery

Published: 20 April 2020

Beaulieu Camera Group is continuing to have meetings using the Zoom app, albeit with a changed programme during the difficult times. The Events Page is being updated with any changes on a regular basis.

We are taking the opportunity to still have our usual PDI competitions and our Monthly competition, but also enjoying tutorials from various members in the use of Lightroom and Photoshop and we have lots of exciting projects and speakers in the pipeline.

We have a WhatsApp Group, a FaceBook page and a Twitter account where members are keeping in touch, posting images and sharing their photographic knowledge.

PDI of the Year 2019

Details
Published: 06 December 2019

Beaulieu Camera Group's PDI of the Year competition took place on 4th December. Our judge for this special event was Jon Mitchell who had the unenviable task of choosing a 1st, 2nd and 3rd and four Highly Commended images from the 83 PDIs which had been awarded a Seal of Merit in the competitions during 2019. Jon's appraisal of each image was succinct with an interesting narrative and helpful comments and he agreed that the quality of the images did make choosing the winners very difficult.

1st Place was awarded to Paul Gray for "Nature's Wrath"
