Success for BCG Members at the PAGB Inter Federation Competition

Details
Published: 24 June 2019

The PAGB Inter Federation Competition took place last weekend. Fifteen Federations entered up to 120 images over the four classes, so there were 1800 of some of the best current images from the whole of the UK. Each Federation's top 15 images in each class counted towards their final scores. Beaulieu Camera Group is a member of the Southern Counties Photographic Federation (SCPF) and two of our members' work was selected to represent the SCPF in the National competition. Many congratulations to Hilary Flaxman whose image "African Buffalo Kruger NP" was given a score of 12 in the Colour Print Class and to Paul Gray, whose image "Nature's Wrath" was given a score of 14 in the Open Digital Class and selected to be exhibited in the National Exhibition of the PAGB. This is a wonderful achievement for Hilary and Paul and good recognition for Beaulieu Camera Group.

This year's Fordingbridge Challenge Plate took place on 10th April with Louis Rumis AFIAP MPAGB as the judge. Eight clubs participated in the event with eight PDIs each. The clubs taking part were Beaulieu Camera Group, Blandford Forum Camera Club, Bournemouth Electric Camera Club, Fordingbridge Camera Club, Poole Camera Club, Ringwood Camera Club, Salisbury Camera Club and Wimborne Camera Club. It was a very relaxed, sociable evening with over 100 people in attendance. The Challenge Plate was won by Salisbury Camera Club for the first time in the event's history. Beaulieu Camera Group finished in 6th place, but with a total of 69.5 marks, we were just one mark away from sharing the 3rd place position, so a good result overall.
