This year's Beaulieu Village Fete took place on Saturday 20th July and Beaulieu Camera Group were once again invited to exhibit prints from our members. After a light shower of rain in the morning, the weather in the afternoon was dry and bright with a little breeze. Prints from twenty five different members were on display with a total of 81 images. The fete was opened by Adrian Hall who played Jeremy the boy in the film "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" and he arrived in the actual car. Adrian was asked to choose his favourite print and he selected "Walk to the Lighthouse, Northumberland" by Hilary Flaxman who was presented with a bottle of champagne. The general public were also sked to vote for their favourite print and 330 people handed in a voting slip, a record number. The print with the highest number of votes was "Homeward Bound" by Paul Gray, who will be presented with the Bob Grier Trophy at our first meeting after the Summer break. Many thanks to all the members who supplied prints for the Exhibition and also to Hilary Flaxman, Neil Hardy, Greg Holmes, Paul Gray and Alan Price who helped set up the stands and put the prints up and the many members who visited the Fete in the afternoon and helped give out the voting slips and talk to the visitors.

The PAGB Inter Federation Competition took place last weekend. Fifteen Federations entered up to 120 images over the four classes, so there were 1800 of some of the best current images from the whole of the UK. Each Federation's top 15 images in each class counted towards their final scores. Beaulieu Camera Group is a member of the Southern Counties Photographic Federation (SCPF) and two of our members' work was selected to represent the SCPF in the National competition. Many congratulations to Hilary Flaxman whose image "African Buffalo Kruger NP" was given a score of 12 in the Colour Print Class and to Paul Gray, whose image "Nature's Wrath" was given a score of 14 in the Open Digital Class and selected to be exhibited in the National Exhibition of the PAGB. This is a wonderful achievement for Hilary and Paul and good recognition for Beaulieu Camera Group.

The SCPF did very well overall, coming joint 8th in the Colour Print Class, joint 7th in the Mono Print Class, joint 3rd in the Nature Class and joint 9th in the Open PDI Class.
